(6 August 2024, Hong Kong) – CIMC Enric Holdings Limited and its subsidiaries (collectively, "CIMC Enric" or "Company") (stock code: 3899.HK) are pleased to release that its subsidiaries, Jingmen Hongtu Special Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd. ("Jingmen Hongtu") and Shijiazhuang Enric Gas Equipment Co., Ltd. ("Shijiazhuang Enric"), have recently successfully won the bid for the hydrogen storage equipment segment of the largest green hydrogen-to-green ammonia and green methanol demonstration project under construction in China—the China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd.( "CEEC") Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park (Green Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Integration Project) ("the Project"). This includes the provision of 15 hydrogen storage spherical tanks and 8 sets of compressor buffer tank equipment. This successful bid once again demonstrates CIMC Enric’s technical expertise in large-scale hydrogen-ammonia-methanol storage and transportation, reinforcing the Company’s position as a benchmark in hydrogen-ammonia-methanol storage and transportation solutions in China and globally.
Located in Songyuan City, Jilin Province, the Project serves as a key initiative for Jilin Province to establish the "Northern China Hydrogen Valley" and the "Onshore Three Gorges of Wind and Solar Power." It has been recognised as one of the first batches of green and low-carbon advanced technology demonstration projects by the National Development and Reform Commission. The Project, which is invested in and constructed by CEEC, will adopt several globally leading technologies, including wind-solar-hydrogen-ammonia-methanol integrated matching technology, multi-stable-state flexible ammonia synthesis technology, CO2+H2 green methanol production technology, and zero-carbon emission centralised heating technology. The Project is planned to be constructed in three phases, with a total investment of RMB29.6 billion. Upon completion, it is expected to produce 110,000 tons of green hydrogen, 600,000 tons of green synthetic ammonia, and 60,000 tons of green methanol annually, along with the development of a 3-million-kilowatt new energy project.

Jingmen Hongtu will construct 15 medium-pressure hydrogen storage spherical tanks for the first phase of the Project, including 14 tanks with a capacity of 2,000 cubic metres each and 1 tank with a capacity of 1,500 cubic metres. This will be the largest green hydrogen storage project currently under construction in China in terms of total storage capacity and the number of spherical tanks. Meanwhile, Shijiazhuang Enric will provide 8 sets of high-pressure compressor buffer tanks to regulate hydrogen pressure, ensuring stable and safe hydrogen transportation.

The "White Paper on Green Hydrogen Industry Development," published by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), the research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), in the second quarter of 2024, reports that there are currently about 80 renewable energy-based hydrogen production projects under construction in China, with a total capacity of approximately 847,000 tons per year. It is projected that China’s green hydrogen production capacity will triple in 2024 compared to the previous year.
