(31 May 2023, Hong Kong) — CIMC Enric Holdings Limited (“CIMC Enric” or “Company”) and its subsidiaries (collectively, the “Group”) (Hong Kong stock code: 3899.HK) are pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Nantong CIMC SinoPacific Offshore &. Engineering Co., Ltd. (“SOE”), has secured significant LNG fuel tank orders. The orders consist of 2 sets of 13,000 m³ Type B LNG fuel tanks, 10 sets of 7,500 m³ Type C LNG fuel tanks, and 3 sets of 3,400 m³ Type C LNG fuel tanks. Since the beginning of this year, the total value of ship-mounted LNG fuel tank orders has exceeded RMB 900 million, covering both Type C and Type B tanks.

The 13,000 m³ Type B LNG fuel tank, the most giant domestic 9% nickel steel Type B fuel tank, will be utilized on sizeable dual-fuel container vessels. Additionally, the 7,500 m³ Type C LNG fuel tanks will be installed on 10 large dual-fuel container vessels, while the 3,400 m³ LNG Type C fuel tanks will be on 3 pure car and truck carriers (PCTC). Type B cargo tanks, generally prismatic or spherical structures, are primarily used for transporting LNG. On the other hand, Type C tanks, available as single cylindrical, bi-lobe or tri-lobe shaped tanks, are typically designed for liquefied gas carriers below 100,000 m³ and small LNG fuel storage tanks.

The fulfillment of these orders reinforces SOE’s position as an industry leader in the LNG fuel tank market. The 7,500 m³ Type C LNG fuel tank is the world’s first vertically-mounted bi-lobe tank, further expanding SOE’s product range of Type C liquid tanks for vessels. Moreover, the 3,400 m³ Type C LNG bi-lobe fuel tank is a customized product tailored by SOE for the currently popular dual-fuel pure car and truck carriers  in the shipping market. To date, SOE has received orders for 38 sets of fuel tanks for this type of vessel, showcasing the widespread recognition of SOE’s product quality and brand among major shipowners and shipyards worldwide, solidifying the Company’s leading position in this niche market segment.

Mr. Gao Wenbao, Vice President of CIMC Enric and General Manager of SOE, commented, “In recent years, the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) implementation of emission conventions has propelled low-carbon emissions into a prevailing trend within the shipping industry. The remarkable surge in global orders for green-powered vessels has spurred the demand for LNG tanks. The acquisition of this significant batch of fuel tank orders underscores SOE’s prowess in delivering diverse and tailor-made fuel tank solutions to our valued customers, encompassing both Type B and Type C tanks. As we forge ahead, SOE remains committed to relentless research and innovation, providing stable and reliable storage and transportation solutions to facilitate the application of green and clean fuels in the shipping industry.”
