(23 Sept 2021 – Hong Kong) - CIMC Enric Holdings Limited (“CIMC Enric” or “the Company”) together with its subsidiaries (the "Group") (Stock Code: 3899.HK) is pleased to announce today that Ziemann Holvrieka Asia Co., Ltd. (“ZHA”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, has won the bid for baijiu grain processing system for the Shuijingfang Qionglai Full Industrial Chain Base Project (Phase I) ("Shuijingfang Project" or the "Project") with a contract value of over RMB100 million.
Sichuan Swellfun Co., Ltd. has cooperated with Qionglai Municipal People's Government to work on the project. The Project consists of a brewing base, a storage and logistics base, and a research and development center, etc., with the objectives of upgrading Chengdu’s baijiu industry by leveraging raw liquor producing region in Qionglai, fostering the implementation of the Sichuan government's strategic plan of "Baijiu Golden Triangle". CIMC Enric has won the contract for the Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) of the grain processing system for Phase I of the Project, which mainly includes grain unloading, cleaning, storage, crushing, mixing and conveying systems.
The brewing of baijiu mainly includes processes like raw material processing, starter-making, solid state fermentation, distillation and extraction, aging, blending and flavouring. The current traditional production method of the baijiu industry is resource consuming, which implies a huge room for improvement in manufacturing efficiency and thus technological reform has become a vital part of the high-end value chain. Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Department pointed out that it is necessary to enhance investment and technological reform to facilitate the constriction of major baijiu projects, in order to optimize industrial layout and enlarge the industry scale. According to the "China Spirits Market Analysis Report 2020" published by RIES Positioning Strategy & Consulting, the market size of China's baijiu is expected to reach RMB 850 billion by 2025. Based on the global brewing equipment business, CIMC Enric has an excellent track record and rich experience in spirits brewing engineering, and has been continuing to improve its turnkey engineering capabilities, including in the baijiu market. The company will continue its deployment of multi-category liquid food, seize the opportunity of upgrading and development of the domestic baijiu equipment industry, and focus on the needs of key baijiu customers. It will also build demonstration projects and explore market opportunities for equipment and EPC projects worth hundreds of billions of dollars.
Mr. Yang Xiaohu, Executive Director and General Manager of CIMC Enric, said, “While consolidating its leading position in brewing and distillation equipment industry, CIMC Enric's liquid food business has been exploring new areas like baijiu to diversify its source of revenue. The winning of the bid for the Shuijingfang project by the Company not only signifies the market recognition on CIMC Enric’s strength and professional expertise, but also an essential step forward in the baijiu industry, laying a solid foundation for future expansion into other baijiu-related projects.”
